2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
The ways in which my media products represent particular social groups is stated and shown very clearly by the different types of conventions, images, fonts, and the way my main text is placed around my images. My social group is Urban themed and this is all shown and represented within my magazine products very clearly on a whole. For example on my front page I have a young but well known comeback music artist which represents the urban life, my main heading of the magazine also represents Urban groups as the heading associates with it being ‘Urban Air’. This is a clear example and representation of my social group. There are over features I have used such as the style of my writing and the colours, these are all different and separate themselves from other music magazines such as Q and NME which have different conventions to represent and attract their social groups as a whole. On my magazine I also have separate pictures which are lined and associated with the main image artist and this is very important to represent my social group, Urban, as fun, young, and ‘hyped’. The ways in which I have worded pieces of text I have place upon my front page, contents page, and double page spread also represent my urban social group.
